Exim Bank sets a library for Kilakala Primary School

By Correspondent
EXIM Bank has handed over a state of the art Library to Yombo Kilakala Primary School in Temeke Municipality, in Dar es Salaam, as part of the Bank’s unique Corporate Social Responsibility Program that seeks to improve the school’s learning environment. The bank adopted the school in August this year and has already donated 100 desks worth eight million shillings to the school that faces challenges that include shortage of desks, toilets and text books among others. Speaking during a handover ceremony at the school premises yesterday, the Exim Bank Managing Director Anthony Grant said his bank will work around the clock to ensure that the school’s challenges are minimized.

Mr Grant said his bank values the role of education in the country’s development process, hence the priority in the education sector. “Exim Bank believes education is the key to success. We will continue supporting various education projects in a bid to uplift the education standards,” he said.
Mr Grant called upon Kilakala Primary School teachers and students to ensure that the library is kept under the good care to serve more students in the future.

The Exim Bank Assistant Marketing Manager Anita Goshashy during the event cautioned students to be careful while using the library urging that the library is vital for the school’s education success and should be well maintained to serve the future students. “My appeal to you is to have a balance between education and discipline. Discipline is so instrumental in today’s world. Without it education may not help you achieve your dreams,” Goshashy noted Earlier, the school’s head teacher Abdul Kuratasa applauded for the bank’s support and urged for other companies, banks and financial institutions to follow the Exim Bank’s example and help improve the country’s education sector.

“The school has got a lot of challenges. We are so grateful for the support provided by Exim Bank and am sure that this library will help improve the school’s performance,” Mr. Kuratasa said.
