With the theme of ‘A safe and healthy working environment
are a fundamental principle and right at work’, the commemorating the World Day
for Safety and Health at Work is a part of National OSHA promotion and
awareness creation activities that aims at encouraging both private and public
workplaces throughout Tanzania to develop, implement and evaluate strategies
that help achieve a healthier and safer working environment.
Receiving the awards on behalf of Airtel Tanzania, TSM
for Morogoro Region Isaack Kijuu said the recognition has demonstrated that
Airtel Tanzania had good systems and programs to embrace safety as a number one
value to both employees and stakeholders.
"We are very delighted to receive these awards because
it is good feedback that Airtel Tanzania is fully complying with safety and
health standards for its employees and stakeholders.
Kijuu added, ‘With the government’s direction towards an
industrialized economy, issues of safety and health at the workplace are
unavoidable.
Airtel Tanzania will continue working together with the
government to ensure that employees and stakeholders are adhering to
occupational safety and health regulations at work along with their other
activities, said Kijuu.
