Friday 29 June, 2012 saw the launch of one of the new entrants in thebusiness industry in the field of waste managements and cleanliness spearheadedby a young dynamic entrepreneur AnthonyMark, the Launch of this company , Green Wastepro Ltd which was officially opened by Dar es Salaam RegionalCommissioner Said Mecky Sadick in the presence of various government officials including IlalaMunicipal mayor, Hon. Jerry Silaa and Ilala District Commissioner Raymond Mushiat the Mnazi Mmoja ground.
Green Wastepro ltd which has been awarded the tender for the centralbusiness district in Kisutu, Mchafukoge and Kivukoni wards has heavily investedin state of the art technology that includes a fleet of 10 vehicles amongstthem tipper trucks, Bajaj trucks, Compacter trucks and sweeper truck, thelatter being the only modern and state of art sweeper truck in the whole regionof East and Central Africa.
“I am very much delighted this day, as a starting point to be able tofulfill my dream of making Dar es Salaam thecleanest city in Tanzania.If other cities in the world have been able to keep theirs clean, I would liketo pioneer to make ours also a possibility” stated Anthony Mark.
The cleanliness of the City of Dar es Salaam in not an individual effort but that of thecommunity at large. “We should just not leave it up to the waste managementcompanies to keep the city clean, but it’s up to each and every citizen to makea conscious effort to keep their respective environment clean and tidy” statedThe Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Said Mecky Sadick.

Jerry Silaa who has vowed to make Ilala the cleanest regionin the Country. “with various Government and corporate Headquarters based inthe Ilala region which also serves as the economic and commercial hub of Dar esSalaam, it’s my responsibility not only to keep this focal area clean but alsoto make it the cleanest in the country” said his worship the Mayor Jerry Silaa.
